FAT LAMBS: (2815)
A slightly smaller show of lambs to what we were expecting today met a reasonably pleasing trade compared to other local and distant centres this week all be it considerably less than the trade of last week. An overall average of 198.5p/kg with the SQQ of 201.5p/kg. top prices as follows:-
Lights average 194p/kg to 242p/kg from G M & H I Evans Plasiolyn
Standards average 200p/kg to 239p/kg from G L Jones Henblas
Mediums average 204p/kg to 266p/kg from E B & F M Ellis & Sons Penisarcwm
Heavy’s average 191p/kg to 214p/kg from R I & R A Davies & Partners Cross Lanes
Others average 148.5p/kg to 166p/kg from I M Jones & Son Nantygollen
Overall average 201.5p/kg.
FAT EWES: (456)
A relatively small show was rewarded with a solid trade throughout from a full complement of buyers. Overall average was £45 with a top price of £90 going to a pen of Texel ewes from D I Roberts & Son, Brooks.

CALVES & WEANLINGS: (45)
A smaller entry of calves was met with a good trade for everything on show. British Blue bulls sold to £292 from D E & M R Davies, Lower Fawnog. Aberdeen Angus bulls to £230 from D C Benbow, Pump House. Friesian bulls to £106 from W G & S P & M E Foulkes, Selattyn Lodge. British Blue heifers sold to £270 from W H Davies & Son, Park Mill, £240 from T Lewis, Crumpwell. Limousin heifers to £240 from W G & S P & M E Foulkes, Selattyn Lodge. Hereford heifers to £240 from T T Jones & Son, Ladyhill Farm. A nice show of strong calves from Eyton Farms, Alberbury sold well with British Blue bulls selling to £402, Simmental bulls to £348, Aberdeen Angus bulls to £332, British Blue heifers to £370 & Aberdeen Angus heifers to £302.

Top priced male went to a smart Limousin bull aged 5 months from T Lewis, Crumpwell which sold for £780. Top priced heifer was £612 paid for a Limousin heifer aged 8 months sold by B & B Farming, The Hazels. Other Limousin heifers sold to £602 from D S Jones & Co, Fronheulog, £570 from I G Evans & Son, Halton Farm. Charolais heifers to £602 from B & B Farming, The Hazels.
