FAT CATTLE: (25)
An entry of 25 Prime Cattle this week that met another terrific trade, but more cattle are needed each week to satisfy demand! Please keep numbers coming as there is a fantastic trade each week! Smart handy weight butchers beasts selling to a premium once again.
Top price of the day per kilo was achieved by JH & SW Burns & Son, Dan-y-Deri, Corwen who sold a 525kg heifer @ 247p/kg = £1296.75.
Top price in the lump was achieved by D Davies, Welshpool who sold a 590kg steer @ 224p/kg = £1321.60.

FAT LAMBS: (2467)
A Very respectable entry of 2467 prime lambs on Wednesday 16th September 2020, this was an increase of 300 lambs on the same day in 2019. The overall average on the day was 204.81p/kg with the SQQ at 204.38p/kg. The SQQ for the same market in 2019 was 158.95p/kg. The trade throughout was very steady with premiums for weighted lambs and well bred lambs. 355 Lights averaged 200.92p/kg a good 10p/kg more than light lambs in neighbouring North Wales markets on the previous day. The lights peaked at 237p/kg from A G & T M Morris Cyrchynan Ucha selling 27kg lambs at £64. 896 Standards averaged 199.20p/kg peaking at 226p/kg (twice) from D A M G Griffiths & Son Tynllwyn with 38.5kg at £87 & M & R Morris Maestanyglwyden with 38kg at £86. The 996 Mediums averaged 209.18p/kg with a top call of 228p/kg from P M C & T W Edwards Glanpwll with 42.5kg at £97. 185 Heavy’s sold up to £125 from J H & S E Roberts & Sons Rolly Farm with the heavy lamb section averaging 209.19p/kg all through.
FAT EWES: (570)
A lot less ewes forward with the entry dominated by plainer ewes with very little strength on show. The overall average was £41 with a top price of £90 paid for 2 Texel ewes from E L, L D & D A Evans, Bangor.
STORE SHEEP: (356)
An entry of 356 Store Sheep at Oswestry this week that met a fantastic trade throughout. Yearling Mule ewes sold to £148 from A Roberts, Glanyrafon with an overall yearling ewe average of £127.47.
R H Morris & Sons, Y Felin presented a strong run of 86 yearling Mule ewes that sold to £140 and averaged £134.49.
An entry of 110 Store Lambs that also met a strong trade with clean lambs to £68.50 from AC & K Tomley, Park Uchaf.

A solid entry again was met with a trade which maybe didn’t hit the highs of the last couple of weeks but certainly no major disappointments with a total clearance reported. Top price was £1250 paid for a British Blue steer aged 20 months sold by R T Lewis & Son, Trefonen.
93 steers averaged £870 (195p/kg) with notable prices including:
£890 (247p/kg) paid for a British Blue steer aged 13 months sold by C D Davies & Son, Pontfadog.
£880 (238p/kg) paid for 2 Charolais steers aged 15 months sold by T M Morgan, Llanerfyl.
£725 (238p/kg) paid for 2 Limousin steers aged 9 months sold by R E Jones & Co, Brooks.
48 heifers averaged £816 (192p/kg) with notable prices including:
£860 (228p/kg) paid for 4 Limousin heifers aged 16 months sold by W G Savage, Llanymynech.
£980 (223p/kg), £825 (217p/kg) & £840 (210p/kg) paid for Charolais heifers aged 14-15 months sold by T M Morgan, Llanerfyl.
£880 (212p/kg) & £825 (212p/kg) paid for Charolais heifers aged 14-15 months sold by B & C G Huxley, Tainant.
