A smaller entry of 18 Prime Cattle this week that met another terrific trade. But more cattle are needed each week to satisfy demand! Please keep numbers coming as there is a fantastic trade each week! Smart handy weight butchers beasts selling to a premium once again.
Top price of the day per kilo was achieved by JW & SW Burns & Son, Dan y Deri, Corwen who sold a 510kg heifer @ 251p/kg = £1305.60.
Top price in the lump was achieved by H Harding & Son, Gwynt Farm who sold a 780kg steer @ 177p/kg = £1380.60.

A seasonal entry of Store Cattle, we are pleased to report some exceptionally well presented cattle of superior quality which met the trade that they deserved. Overall a very pleasing day with vendors going home well satisfied. Top price of the day was £1280 (219p/kg) for a Limousin Steer aged 15 months from B M Evans Coedygarth, who also sold British Blue Steers aged 14 - 15 months for £1085 (226p/kg), £1080 (240p/kg) and £1060 (233p/kg) and Aberdeen Angus Steers aged 15 months for £1150 (211p/kg). 48 steers averaged £988 (211p/kg) with notable prices including:
A R & E M Evison Tygwyn sold Limousin Steers aged 15 months for £1215 (234.5p/kg).
R J Slater & Son The Broadlands sold Bazadaise Steers aged 13 months for £1055 (237p/kg).
R E Astley Rhosgomorog sold a Limousin Steer aged 16 months for £1015 (236p/kg).
45 Heifers averaged £830 (204p/kg) with notable prices including:

R T Jones & Co Rhydygro sold Limousin Heifers aged 14 – 16 months for £970 (242.5p/kg), £990 (236p/kg) and £990 (230p/kg).
R E Astley Rhosgomorog sold Limousin Heifers aged 16 months for £1070 (230p/kg) and £1030 (231.5p/kg).
Clearly strong demand for all classes of stock, worthy of vendors prompt attention with regards to sale.

A nice entry of 110 store lambs for our first sale this year met a terrific trade throughout averaging £59.69. Plenty of purchases keen to buy, so please keep numbers coming each week to satisfy the strong demand.
