An entry of 15 Prime Cattle this week that met another terrific trade.
Another good show of butchers heifers selling to a premium.
Top price of the day per kilo was achieved by GW & BA Haynes, Trefnant Isaf who sold a 530kg heifer @ 255p/kg = £1351.00

Similar numbers but a harder trade all round with buyers very selective with theIr purchases. A reduced overall average of £51 with a top price of £90 for Suffolk ewes from
D I Kirkman, The Nant.

CALVES & WEANLINGS: (15)
A few more forward but still not enough to meet demand with several buyers leaving empty handed. Another excellent trade with a Limousin bull from T T Jones & Son, Ladlyhill selling to £300. Aberdeen Angus bulls to £270 from D E Ward, Manor Farm. British Blue Bulls to £210 from R L Owen, Tanycoed. Hereford Bulls to £200 from D T Roberts, Ty Issa. Limousin heifers to £250, £242 & £222 from W H Davies & Son, Park Mill. British Blue Heifers to £190 from T Lewis, Crumpwell. A good entry of cattle forward was met with a solid trade. Top price was £1180 (187p/kg) paid for 2 Limousin steers aged 18 months sold by W T Thomas, Llanarmon DC.
129 steers averaged £933 (190p/kg) & 78 heifers averaged £781 (190p/kg) with notable prices included:
H E & M L Evans, Rhydycroesau presented another good show of Limousin & Charolais yearlings with steers selling to £760 (262p/kg) & £730 (252p/kg) and heifers to £700 (222p/kg).
£830 (224p/kg) paid for a pair of Limousin steers aged 13 months sold by J E Hughes & Son, Llanarmon DC.
£1005 (223p/kg) paid for a Limousin steer aged 22 months sold by J D Jones, Bronygarth.
£1075 (219p/kg) & £940 (219p/kg) paid for Limousin steers aged 22-23 months & £975 (229p/kg) paid for Limousin heifers aged 22 months all sold by R B Davies & Sons, Maesbrook.
£775 (213p/kg) paid for 3 Charolais heifers aged 12 months sold by J D & M R Buckley, Llanfair Caereinion.
