A few more cattle with some good runs of Heifers forward, keen bidding took top slots to 254p for heifers, 212p for Steers and one Bull at 133p. Overall market average of 201p.

A lot more scanned ewes around today with some excellent competition for stronger ewes in particular. A healthy overall average of £53 was recorded with a top price of £113 for a ewe from Bowyers, Preeshenlle. A good entry of 50 mainly native tups averaged £62 with a top price of £110 for Texel tups from G Jones & Son, Llanfyllin.

Nice to see numbers back over the 200 mark with an excellent trade leading to a total clearance. Although there were a lot of suckler bred types on show there was still a good number of dairy bred cattle forward making the averages below even more impressive. Top price was £1250 (212p/kg) paid for three Aberdeen Angus x steers aged 22-23 months sold by G O Jones, Llangollen.
90 steers averaged £974 (215p/kg!) with notable prices including:
£1005 (251p/kg) & £910 (238p/kg) paid for Charolais steers aged 11 months sold by T M Morgan, Llanerfyl.
£1060 (238p/kg) paid for a British Blue steer aged 16 months sold by H M Owen, Penybontfawr.
£895 (259p/kg), £760 (253p/kg) & £710 (273p/kg) paid for Charolais & Limousin steers aged 7-9 months sold by R E Jones & Son, Brooks.
