FAT CATTLE: (16)
An entry of 16 Prime Cattle this week that met another pleasing trade.
No real superstars forward this week as seen in recent weeks, however, heifers sold to 236p/kg and steers to 240p/kg.
Top price of the day per kilo was achieved by JH & SE Roberts & Sons, Rolly Farm who sold a 530kg heifer @ 236p/kg = £1250.80.
RJ Williams & Co, Bodynlliw, Corwen presented 4 meaty Limousin x heifers averaging 572kg and sold to 233p/kg for a 570kg heifer = £1328.10.
Top priced steer was achieved by JH & SW Burns, Dan-y-Deri, Corwen who sold a 560kg British Blue x steer @ 240p/kg = £1344.

Another small show reflecting the lack of numbers nationwide. Trade was a touch sharper with a few more buyers back in attendance. Overall average was £55 with a top price of £98 for Texel ewes from H E Pugh, Kinton.

STORE CATTLE: (91)
A few less around with the overall quality perhaps not quite as high as recent weeks. Another note of gratitude goes to vendors, buyers and staff for again immaculately adhering to the new regulations. Trade still holding up well with a top price of £1170 (192p/kg) paid for a pair of British Blue steers aged 22 & 23 months sold by R G P Roberts & Son, Hengoed.
49 steers averaged £945 (200p/kg) with notable prices including:
£1025 (236p/kg), £930 (235p/kg) & £925 (234p/kg) paid for Limousin steers aged 12-16 months sold by J M Jones & Son, Penybontfawr.
£800 (256p/kg) paid for 5 Charolais steers aged 9 months sold by R E Jones & Son, Brooks.
£1010 (230p/kg) paid for a Limousin steer aged 11 months sold by D M Williams, Llangollen.
42 heifers averaged £783 (188p/kg) with notable prices including:
£990 (227p/kg) & £885 (227p/kg) paid for Limousin heifers aged 14-20 months sold by J M Davies & Sons, Llangollen.
£1000 (222p/kg) paid for 3 Limousin heifers aged 22 months sold by R Roberts, Penycae.
£945 (212p/kg) & £890 (217p/kg) paid for Limousin heifers aged 13-16 months sold by J M Jones & Son, Penybontfawr.

CALVES & WEANLINGS: (23)
A few more calves forward which was nice to see. Trade still a little patchy especially for the best calves with a few regular buyers still not back in attendance. Limousin bulls sold to £278, £266 & £254 from S K & S Hodgson, Arddleen Grange. Limousin heifers to £238 from T T Jones & Son, Lady Hill Farm. Blue heifers to £196 & £186 from T Lewis, Crumpwell. Friesian bulls sold to £112, £106 & £100 from D J H Foulkes & Son, Maesteg.
