FAT CATTLE: (23)
Some nice handy weight cattle forward today met another firm trade on all types. A good run of five Heifers averaged 238.5p/kg and another run averaged 236p/kg. Top slots hit 246p/kg for Heifers, 180p/kg for Steers and 200p/kg for Bulls. Highest in the lump was £1391 for a Heifer. Bottom book of 130p/kg for a light lean Steer. FAT EWES: (657)
Less around which follows the trends seen at other centres earlier in the week. Some well meated ewes on show were rewarded with a slight improvement in trade and an increased overall average of £43. A pen of 5 Suffolk ewes from N R & S R Hulme, Ellesmere topped the trade at £89.50. 12 Rams averaged £52 with a top price of £98.50 for a Texel Ram from D A & M G Griffiths & Son, Rhiwlas.
STORE SHEEP: (51)
A disappointing entry of 51 Store lambs were present this week and once again sold to a strong trade. Top price came for a pen of Ewe lambs presented by C A Widdon White House and sold for £57. W & H H Lloyd Cefnymaes presented a good run of mixed Texel x lambs and sold for £50. More lambs are needed every week to satisfy the demand of the strong number of buyers that are present each week. Only a small offering of calves today with trade generally just a shade sharper. Highest of the day was the sale of a Superb British Blue Bull out of a Pure Limousin Cow which topped at £470 from Messrs Edwards Bryncelyn £340 & £280 from Messrs Lewis Crumpwell £270 from Messrs Lewis Caenymynydd. Hereford Bulls to £235 from Messrs Lewis Crumpwell. Aberdeen Angus Bulls to £220 & £170 from Messrs Ede Willow Farm. Charolais Heifers to £270 from Messrs Lewis Caenymynydd. British Blue Heifers to £225 from Messrs Lewis Caenymynydd. Welsh Black Heifers to £190 from Messrs Evans Wern Farm. Aberdeen Angus Heifers to £170 & £140 from Messrs Ede Willow Farm.

A lot of dairy bred stores on show but still plenty of buyers for them. Top price was £1185 (181p/kg) paid for 2 Simmental heifers aged 25 months sold by P I Edwards, Kilhendre.
