FAT EWES: (851)
Trade very similar with only the strongest ewes demanding a premium. Overall average was £38.50 with a top price of £100 for a Texel ewe from R M & G Hughes, Trefonen.
37 Rams of all shapes and sizes averaged £40 with a top price of £110 for 2 Texel tups from S Hudson, Lower Frankton.
STORE SHEEP: (71)
A very disappointing entry of 68 lambs were present this week and sold to the strongest trade seen throughout the season as new buyers were present again this week. More lambs are required every week to satisfy demand. Top price of the day was achieved by A L & S Gardner Prees Gwynne who sold a strong pen of crossbred tup lambs for £63. Mule tup lambs were also in demand as C A Widdon White House sold a strong pen for £60. Ewe lambs also sold well and up to £60.50 for a pen presented by

Increased numbers today but a distinct shortage of good calves with the larger majority of inferior quality or presented too early for sale. Demand was therefore substantially reduced particularly for the poorer sorts. A good show of cattle with quality certainly commanding a premium. Top price was £1190 (209p/kg) paid for a Charolais steer aged 18months sold by R L Edwards, Llansantffraid.

£815 (240p/kg) & £715 (225p/kg) paid for Charolais steers aged 9-11 months sold by H E & M L Evans, Rhydycroesau.
£970 (237p/kg) paid for a Charolais steer aged 16 months sold by D Jones & Son, Glyndyfrdwy.
