FAT CATTLE: (20)
Very low on numbers today where have you all gone? A good trade for all cattle shown but we do need more cattle each and every week to satisfy demand. Top slots hit 243p for Heifers, 196p for Steers and 175p for the one bull on offer. Highest price in the lump was £1287 for a Heifer, bottom book of 114p for a lean aged friesian Steer. FAT EWES: (607)
Perhaps a slightly better trade than recent weeks with a little more competition for all ewes on offer. Strongest ewes still in good demand. Overall average back up to a far more respectable £38 with a top price of £95 for Texel ewes from M & S Jones, Rhydycroesau.
STORE SHEEP: (236)
A strong entry of 202 store lambs were present this week and another good trade was seen again reaching the highs of £70 for a pen of strong Texel x Ewe Lambs presented by
J D & B M Roberts, Llangwrydd Issa, Pontfadog. J E Hughes & Son, Tuhwntirafon also presented an entry of strong Mule Ewe Lambs that reached £65. Tup lambs peaked at £59.50 for a pen of strong Crossbred Lambs from J H Williams, Fron, Llansilin. Overall averages: Ewe Lambs - £52.86, Mixed Lambs - £31, Tup Lambs - £43.74.

CALVES & WEANLINGS: (26)
A very small presentation today with only a handful of good continentals forward selling to a reasonable trade for best males, other than the very best demand is quite substantially less for poorer sorts as is the norm nationally. Leading prices: British Blue Bulls to £345 from Messrs Lewis Crumpwell £266 from Messrs Foulkes Selattyn Lodge. Limousin Bulls to £330 from Messrs Foulkes Selattyn Lodge. Simmental Bulls to £300 from Messrs Evans Pendugwm. British Blue Heifers to £250 from Messrs Lewis Crumpwell. Limousin Heifers to £235 & £224 (twice) from Messrs Foulkes Selattyn Lodge. Hereford Bulls to £165 from Messrs Rogers New Hall. Montbeliarde Bulls to £100 from Messrs Edwards Lower Sweeney.
WEANLINGS: British Blue Heifers (6mo) to £310 from Messrs Johnson Pengwern Hall.

A nice show of quality cattle again with no let-up in the trade. Top price was £1240 (207p/kg) paid for a Charolais steer aged 18 months sold by P G & V Jones, Nantyr.
54 steers averaged £907 (191p/kg) and 50 heifers averaged £770 (176p/kg) with notable prices including :
£1065 (229p/kg) paid for a British Blue steer aged 15 months sold by A P Savage, Llanymynech.
£1170 (221p/kg) paid for a Charolais steer aged 21 months, £1030 (218p/kg) paid for 3 Charolais steers aged 17 months, £1140 (207p/kg) & £1110 (208p/kg) paid for Charolais heifers aged 21-24 months all sold by P G & V Jones, Nantyr.
£875 (206p/kg) paid for a Limousin heifer aged 17 months sold by E R & A C Morris, Plas.
