FAT CATTLE: (34)
A mixier show of cattle forward and a lack of smart butchers Heifers this week, more bulls with plenty of meat on show also. Top slots hit 207p/kg for Steers, Heifers and Bulls to 200p/kg.Highest price in the lump was £1370 for a Heifer and a bottom book of 130p/kg for a light friesian steer. FAT LAMBS: (2616)
A similar number of lambs on offer sold to a mixed trade with better, more competitive bidding on any well meated lambs, but much less trade for any leaner tups on offer, of which there were a good number entered. As stated well fleshed lambs sold strongly up to 196p/kg (46.5kg at £91) from T & B Williams Cilmawr, with heavy weight lambs also showing an improved price up to £92 per head from Bowyer Preeshenlle. Vendors are advised to sell lambs with as much meat as possible.

FAT EWES: (1099)
Nearly 1100 ewes on the yard with another high proportion of Welsh ewes on show. Trade still difficult on leaner ewes with a few less grazing men around leading to an overall average of £25. The best ewes still wanted with a top price of £91 for ewes from R H Buckley & Sons, Llangedwyn.
STORE SHEEP: (347)
A similar number of 121 ewes were present again this week and another strong entry of 198 store lambs with a good number of buyers present. The breeding ewes topped at £88 for a pen of strong yearling crossbred ewes from T Farrall, Sundorne. J & E & R Griffiths, Bryn Gwyn, Clocaenog presented another strong entry of 3 and 4 year old welsh ewes that attracted plenty of interest and sold for £48. Another strong trade on the store lambs was seen again this week reaching the highs of £62 for a pen of strong mule ewe lambs and another two pens at £60 from T & H L Thomas, Plas Newydd, Llansilin. Wether lambs peaked at £59 for a pen of strong crossbred lambs from R J & R B Titley, Hollies Farm and mixed lambs topped at £56 from the same vendor.
Overall Averages: Ewe lambs - £57.85, Mixed lambs - £45.88, Tup lambs - £27.81
28 breeding rams were present this week with a good variation of breeds throughout once again and averaged £183.23. Top price of the day was 340gns twice for Texel yearling rams presented by D E & R M Williams, Bronheulog.

Only a small entry of calves today with trade fractionally improved particularly for the very few best continental males, encouraging to see more buyers present today. A large presentation of weanlings sold to a steady trade for the quality on offer. Leading prices Calves: Limousin Bulls to £290 from Messrs Jones Fron Farm £280 from Messrs Powell Llwynmawr Mill. Simmental Bulls to £295 from Messrs Evans Pendugwm, British Blue Bulls to £270 from Messrs Cornes Cwmllwynog. Hereford Bulls to £200 from Messrs Lewis Crumpwell. Simmental Heifers to £240 from Messrs Evans Pendugwm. Limousin Heifers to £200 from Messrs Powell Llwynmawr Mill. British Blue Heifers to £202 & £195 from Messrs Wigley New Hall. Nice to see numbers still coming forward with trade a little sharper for a very good show of cattle. Top price was £1335 (188p/kg) paid for a British Blue steer aged 28 months sold by P G & V Jones, Nantyr.
