FAT CATTLE: (26)
Again another solid trade throughout with some good meated cattle on offer, top slots flew to 235p/kg for Heifers, 191p/kg for Steers and 185p/kg for Bulls. Highest in the lump was £1354 for a Steer. An overall market average of 191p/kg was achieved.

A few less around with little difference in the trade. Strong, well meated ewes still a joy to sell with everything else harder work. Overall average of £31 with a top price of £117.50 for a Texel ewe from D M Jones, Newbridge. 29 Rams averaged £60 with a top price of £126 for tups from F A Jones, Babbinswood.

Another strong trade with a total clearance reported. Top price was £1250 (208p/kg) paid for a Charolais steer aged 18 months sold by B & C Huxley, Tainant.

£1100 (250p/kg) & £985 (229p/kg) paid for Blue heifers aged 18 -19 months sold by C D Davies & Son, Pontfadog.
£1070 (235p/kg) paid for a Blue heifer aged 16 months sold by E O & G M Evans, Trefnanney.
£1130 (226p/kg) paid for 2 Limousin heifers aged 20 months sold by R J Slater & Son, Baschurch.

STORE SHEEP: (499)
A strong entry of breeding ewes were present today that consisted of 236 yearlings that averaged £100.78 and 202 older Ewes. Top price was £122 for a pen of 24 Texel x yearlings from R G Rogers Fron Ganol and closely followed by H M Rees Fronheulog who sold a pen of 19 Mule yearlings at £120. R H Morris & Sons Y Felin presented a strong entry of 100 yearling ewes mostly consisting welsh mules that peaked at £112.
