FAT CATTLE: (15)
A very disappointing number of cattle forward considering the trade we are having at the moment. Trade firmer on all types with top slots reaching 253p for butchers heifers, 196p for bulls and 178p for steers. Highest price in the lump was £1470 for a Heifer. We need butchers Heifers each and every week, today a run of good meated heifers sold to average 249p/kg!!!! Have you got some??.

Buyers being a little bit more selective over their purchases this week with still little appetite for ewes at the lower end of the price scale. Trade on good ewes still strong. Overall average of £34 with a top price of £120 topping a good run of ewes from J H & S E Roberts & Sons, Knockin.

R W Morton, Rhydtalog. 55 steers averaged £892 (190p/kg) & 40 heifers averaged £870 (198p/kg) with notable prices including:
R W Morton continued his good trade with Limousin steers aged 14-19 months selling at £1040 (227p/kg), £1040 (224p/kg) & £965 (218p/kg) and 12-14 month old Limousin heifers selling for £950 (218p/kg), £930 (234p/kg) & £920 (212p/kg).
£1065 (229p/kg) & £935 (231p/kg) paid for Limousin steers aged 14 months sold by R M Morris, Maengwynedd.
