FAT LAMBS: (2394)
This week we had an increased entry of 2394 prime lambs that met a better trade than expected, with an overall average of 185p/kg. The best sold today were the best meated and clean headed lambs weighing between 42 – 46kg. The hardest sold were lambs weighing between 34 – 37kg with light lambs very similar to other markets staying at around 180p/kg mark.
236 Lights average 178.58p/kg and sold to 214p/kg from K J Jones Delfryn and £61/head from M J Tomlins Wigmore.
811 Standards average 182.94p/kg and sold to 199p/kg from H E & M L Evans Cynynnion Fawr and £76.50/head from D G Williams Tyfos.
1180 Mediums average 186.85p/kg and sold to 225p/kg and £99/head from L A Morris & L F Jones Parc Farm.
137 Heavy’s average 186.69p/kg and sold to 196p/kg from R E Jones Farchwell and £95/head from M & R Morris Maestanyglwyden, J T & A W Davies Tynygraig
and J W Jones & Partners Pantglas Isa.
Overall average 185p/kg.
FAT EWES: (830)
A much more respectable entry was met with some spirited bidding producing a strong overall average of £58. Top price went to 4 Texel ewes from I G Evans & Son, Halton.
7 Rams averaged £80 with a top price of £100 for a tup from T & B Williams, Llangedwyn.

CALVES & WEANLINGS: (52)
A good show of calves today with trade just a shade sharper for all sorts. Best continental males continue to meet good demand with Charolais Bulls topping today at £325 & £308 from Messrs Foulkes Selattyn Lodge, Charolais Heifers to £258 also from Messrs Foulkes Selattyn Lodge. British Blue Bulls to £308 from Messrs Davies Lower Fawnog £300 from Messrs Owen Tanycoed £260 from Messrs Morgan Trederwen. Limousin Bulls to £300 & £298 from Messrs Roberts Ty Issa. Limousin Heifers to £275 from Messrs Jones Hilley £240 from Messrs Roberts Ty Issa. Aberdeen Angus Bulls to £135 from Messrs Thomas Edgebold. Friesian Bulls to £136 from Messrs Foulkes Maesteg.
British Blue Bulls (3mo) to £320 from Messrs Lewis Green Hall. Limousin Bulls (4mo) to £340, £302 & £292, Limousin Heifers (4mo) to £290, £280 & £270 from Messrs Williams Newbridge. Larger entries required weekly.
STORE CATTLE: (39)
A seasonal entry was met with a sharper trade for the cattle on show. Top prices of the day were £1160 (195p/kg) paid for Limousin steers aged 25-26 months and £1125 (175p/kg) paid for Limousin heifers aged 25 months sold by G M & D Hughes & Son, Lower Halton.
16 steers averaged £878 (183p/kg) & 23 heifers averaged £914 (171p/kg) with notable prices including:
£800 (219p/kg) & £730 (209p/kg) paid for Limousin steers aged 20 months & 25 months.
£855 (214p/kg) & £630 (203p/kg) paid for Limousin steers aged 13 & 14 months sold by I M Powell, Rhosymadoc.
£930 (219p/kg) paid for a Limousin steer aged 23 months sold by R G Ethelston, Treflach.
