Competitive bidding helped to create another good trade with strong Welsh ewes looking the best sold on the day. Overall average was £63 with a top price of £131 for a Texel ewe from D & E Davies, Selattyn. 28 Rams averaged £70 with a top price of £109 for 3 tups from C Sneade, Montgomery.

CALVES & WEANLINGS: (68)
Similar numbers of calves but quality continentals in short supply. A decent trade for the better calves but too many poorer sorts presented too soon were found difficult to sell. Please present your calves at their very best to obtain good prices. A superb show of 27 weanlings sold to keen demand throughout. Leading prices:

Trade holding firm with plenty of buyers still looking for cattle. Top prices were £1180 (209p/kg) for a Limousin steer aged 26 months and £1170 (217p/kg) for a Limousin heifer aged 26 months both sold by W Clark & Son, Woolston.
37 steers averaged £914 (197p/kg) & 69 heifers averaged £812 (194p/kg) with notable prices including:
£750 (254p/kg) paid for a Limousin steer aged 12 months sold by Edwards & Co, Cemmaes Road.
£925 (237p/kg) paid for a Charolais steer aged 12 months sold by Partneriaeth Llymystyn, Foel.
